with mitt romney, which is why they are undecided. in 10 states, two weeks ago, there were 6% of the voters undecided. that is a pretty significant amount. it sounds like a small number, but a pretty significant amount. did that 6% look at romney last night and say, this is somebody i feel a lot better about than i did coming into this debate. some were not paying attention and some were. for those who were not -- who were paying attention, the answer has to be yes. i think you will see a bump in the polls for romney. 67% believed that romney won the debate. that is a stunning number. usually, our side thinks our guy one and their side thinks there got one. -- thinks their guy won. it was pretty decisive. >> explain to a group of people -- i doubt there is an undecided voter in this room. what do undecided voters look like? who are they? >> the kind of people who tell the waiter to come back at a restaurant because they have not made up their mind. [laughter] when you look at undecided voters, they generally tend to be younger women than anything else. in this case, i am seeing an even divi

from not only the wall street poll but swing states poll. you mentioned that mitt romney's closed the deficit among likely voters for obama from five points to three points. and in florida, he's closed from five down to one which is tied given the margin of error in our poll. in virginia, he has closed the gap from five to two. if you look at the state of ohio, a must-win state for mitt romney, mathematically possible for him to get to it without it but his strategists think he needs it. he needs to make progress there. but the fact that some of the national polls are coming back a little bit, some of the swing state polls are tightening, is a bit of an earn couragement for romney that he still has an opportunity for deficit with three or four points to change the dynamic in some way. he's got to hope that obama is not on his best game. you could have a scenario that like what happened in 2000 where george w. bush moved significantly without gore and ultimately became president. >> it's interesting that the poll also shows, as you mention, this 12% of swingable votes in the middle

right now we would be at 5.4% unemployment. >> romney pounded joe biden for stating the administration' goal on a trillion dollar tax hike on those making more than 200,000 a year or family 250,000. >> people in the middle class has been squeezed or buried as the vice-president said. and romney's remarks, inelegant. 47%, he renounced it once and for all. >> completely wrong and i absolutely believe, however, that my life has shown that i care about 100%. >> and hoped with those remarks, romney would lay those to rest and close the door on that. to prevent that the democrats were pumping out attack ads to keep it very much. >> bret: carl cameron, on your last point, almost everyone talking about wednesday's debate says mitt romney did pretty well or won, but how he won, that's the question, as carl mentioned, that has entered the post debate spin cycle. >> governor romney may dance around his positions, but if you want to be president, you owe the american people the truth. >> stretching the truth or worse, that's how mitt romney won the debate. it's now a familiar refrain from democrat

in those states? >> john, both candidates obviously reacting to the jobs report today. governor romney saying this isn't a real recovery. we need more job growth. that's what he says. the president says it's a reminder that the country has come very far so far and he's not going to be turning back. so who's right? >> again, it depends on your perspective. the job growth is not as robust as either candidate would like. you need essentially 150,000, some economists say close to 200,000 jobs a month to keep a flat line and begin to turn the rate down more. look at some of the other data. if you look here's job creation. remember, this is the end of the bush administration, early obama administration, the economy was bleeding jobs. 800,000 jobs a month at one point. spurt a growth, back down again. this is what the president says, no, it's not as robust as i would like, but look at this. look at this. since 2010 the economy has been adding jobs including 114,000 in september. that's what the president would say. governor romney says that's not enough. and with less regulation, lower taxes,
